Community Connections

Open House Playgroup

All Saints Floreat Uniting Church runs a playgroup for children 0 – 4 years during the school terms on Wednesday from 9.30 – 11.30 am.

We cater for families who live in the Floreat area or are part of the All Saints’ Uniting Church community.  We are also willing to accept families from a wider area – City Beach, Churchlands and Wembley Downs (south of Hale Road), but please consult with our helpers before inviting anyone.

Parents, grandparents and carers can bring children for social interaction in a safe and caring environment.

Kids Hope at Floreat Primary

This “highly valued program” (Principal’s words) was introduced at Floreat Primary school in 2017. Members of the congregation spend one hour per week with a child from the school and do a range of different activities, including some academic work, with them.

Chaplaincy at Churchlands Senior High School

Participating Churches support the Chaplains at Churchlands High School.  The two major fundraisers are:

  • an annual Quiz Night
  • an annual dinner hosted by one of the churches

Perth Inner City Youth Services (PICYS)

A regular collection of food and other supplies are forwarded to PICYS for donation to their clients. Volunteers from Floreat and City Beach work on a roster to provide, pick up, and/or distribute food and supplies on every alternate second and fourth of the Friday month, to PICYS in West Leederville.

Uniting Aid

Several volunteers from All Saints assist with this service. Donations of Weet-Bix and rolled oats are collected on the first Sunday of each month for distribution to clients of Uniting Aid, Nollamara.

Retiring Offerings

All Saints hold a Retiring Offering which is used for the wider work of the Uniting Church and The Community:

  • Emergency Appeals (eg. bushfires and floods)
  • Uniting World (Uniting Church of Australia’s overseas aid work)
  • Frontier Services (for outback Australia)
  • The work undertaken by the Creative Living Centre
